Purpose of loan

Implementation of the scheme in rural areas by Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Limited (GLPC) and by Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GULM) in urban areas. The main objective of this scheme is to create 1 lakh Joint Liability Income and Savings Groups (JLESG) and make 10 lakh women self-reliant by encouraging joint economic activities through these groups.


The main features of this scheme are as follows.


  • If each group pays regular installment under this scheme, then Rs. Provision has been made to pay interest in excess of Rs. 1 lakh from Govt.
  • Under this scheme 60,000 JLESG will be covered in rural area and 30,000 in urban area. In which the interest amount is to be paid by the government  to the lending institutions on behalf of the women's group.
  • Nationalized banks, rural banks, co-operative banks, private banks, co-operative societies and other RBI recognized credit institutions - MFIs will also be promoted by the government  for the successful implementation of this scheme. (* changes may be subject to change)

Objective of the plan

  • Include women in Joint Liability Income and Savings Group (JLESG).
  • Through public sector banks, private banks, co-operative banks and lending institutions up to Rs. 1.00 lakh loan.
  • Provide self-employment and livelihood through credit.


Scheme Eligibility Criteria

  • The eligibility to take advantage of this scheme is as follows.
  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.
  • The applicant in this scheme should be a woman.
  • Applicant should be part of self help group of Gujarat.
  • The Self Help Group should have 10 members.
  • The government  is going to provide loan to these groups and the interest will be paid by the government  to the bank.


Target beneficiary

  1. 10 women who want to get credit.
  2. Females should be 18 to 6 years old
  3. Preference to widowed abandoned sisters.
  4. Existing group whose debt is not outstanding.
  5. Target: 1 lakh groups, 10 lakh women and 5 million family members
  6. Of these, 30,000 clusters are in rural areas and 50,000 in urban areas.

  • Rupee. Interest subvention up to Rs. Loan Amount: Rs. 1 Lac
  • Interest: As per 15%, maximum Rs. 5,000/-
  • Loan Repayment: Rs. 10000/- per annum as installment of Rs. 1,50,000/-
  • Out of which Rs. 1,00,000 loan recovery and Rs. 20,000 as savings.
  • Waiver of Stamp Duty: The stamp duty required for bank loans is to be waived.
